2026 Application

This scholarship was founded by HLH@Wachusett to support fellow seniors that have suffered familial loss. The application is open from 2/1/26-3/15/26 and one (1) $1,500 scholarship to be awarded in May of 2026. Money received can be used for books/housing/tuition/etc. Students in the Wachusett District are invited to apply that meet the following criteria.

 

Requirements:

1. Students must have a 2.75 unweighted or weighted GPA upon submission of application.

2. Students must be planning to attend a four-year college, university, or trade-school.

3. Students must have the loss of someone in their immediate family. This includes siblings, half-siblings, step-siblings, and/or any parents or guardians.

4. Students must be living in the Wachusett District.

5. Students must be a Senior in High School or homeschool equivalent.

6. Immediate family members of HLH Board or selection committee are ineligible.

 

Application:

1. Students must email all application materials, in pdf format to scholarships@hlhgrief.org with the subject line "Dandelion Scholarship" Click Here to view the application, then choose make a copy to begin your own application.

2. The pdf must include the following: cover page with all information completed, a copy of your Official Transcript, completed essay questions, and 2 letters of recommendation by an employer, coach, teacher, guidance counselor or significant adult figure (not related to you).

3. Please expect to include a .jpeg photo to be used on our website and or social media upon notice of award.
