Who We Are
We are HLH @ Wachusett, a daughter organization to Hope Lives Here. We help out with outreach within the five towns of the Wachusett Region and work in tangent with our high school to help our community. HLH @ Wachusett has assisted at events such as Holden Days, Halloween in Holden, the HLH 5K, Holidays in Holden, Holden Spring Festival, and many more. In the year of 2025, we have run a children's book drive with two more book drives in the upcoming year and are starting up a scholarship for high school students who have experienced grief.

Annual + Semi-Annual Events & Outreach
Holden Days: We spread the word about our organization to a few hundred people by handing out Hope Lives Here pamphlets and stickers from our spot along the event. Along with these pamphlets we had a craft for kids where they could make little hope crafts and write who they are missing. Connections were also made within our community and lead to more people hearing of our mighty organization.
Halloween in Holden: We hand out candy as part of the town event while connecting with parents about the organization. This event features us along the trick or treat route in full costumes and an elaborate backdrop to explain who we are and what we do.
HLH 5K: Our first year, we helped before the 5K with making swag bags and handing out the shirts and then on the day of, we handed out snacks, directed parking, and cheered for everyone. Our second year, we helped before the 5K doing the same as the previous year and then on the day of, we directed parking, handed out snacks, cheered for everyone, and also had a kid's activity tent with face painting and fun activities. Both years that HLH @ Wachusett has helped out we have brought with us to the 5K between fifteen and twenty volunteers in order to ensure a smooth event.
Holidays in Holden: We have one of our amazing volunteers dress-up as The Grinch and take pictures with kids during the holiday season. We also have a room at the Holden Senior Center on this day where we bring a bunch of crafts and small treats for everyone to enjoy. This event normally has the biggest turn out of town events that we attend with a few hundred people coming to take pictures with the grinch.
Holden Spring Festival: We set up a table outside and taught kids how to make pipe cleaner bracelets and had supplies to plant wildflowers. The event had close to a hundred people who made bracelets and planted flowers with many more parents interested in who we are as an organization.
Book Drive This year, HLH @ Wachusett started a book drive for seven of our local libraries to provide people of all ages with books on coping with grief. We started with a children's book drive and received almost fifty books with the plan to have a teen book drive this fall and adult book drive this spring. The books donated all have dedications on the inside to loved ones and our kind volunteers are to drop off the books at the libraries.
